3 quick steps (Mac)

Open the downloaded profile

Double-click kcc-debug-reporter.mobileconfig in your Downloads folder. macOS will say "Profile downloaded — review in System Settings."
Install the profile

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Profiles (or follow the prompt that just appeared). Click "KCC Debug Reporter — Chrome Extension", then Install. Enter your Mac admin password when prompted — this is required so Chrome reads the policy machine-wide.

You'll see "Profile is not signed." That's expected — we don't pay Apple for code signing on internal tools. Click Install anyway. The profile only changes Chrome's extension policy and is fully reversible from the same Profiles screen.
Restart Chrome

Quit Chrome completely (⌘Q), then reopen. The extension installs automatically and pins itself to the toolbar. No sideload warnings, no Developer Mode toggle, no drag-drop. It will auto-update from this page going forward.

Open the downloaded file

Double-click kcc-debug-reporter.reg in your Downloads folder. Windows will show a UAC prompt asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" — click Yes. Then click Yes again on the registry-import confirmation.

Admin rights required. Chrome only reads extension policies from the machine-wide hive (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) on consumer Chrome installs. The .reg file is fully reversible — open regedit as admin later if you want to remove it.
Restart Chrome

Close Chrome completely (check the system tray too if you use background apps) and reopen. The extension installs automatically and pins itself to the toolbar.

Open Chrome's Extensions page

Copy this URL and paste it into a new tab (Chrome blocks direct links to internal pages).

Turn on Developer mode

Look at the top-right corner of the Extensions page and flip the Developer mode toggle on. This is a one-time setting.
Drag the downloaded file onto the page

Find the kcc-debug-reporter.crx file you just downloaded and drag it onto the Extensions page. Chrome will ask "Add KCC Debug Reporter?" — click Add extension.

That's it. The extension icon will appear in your toolbar. Pin it for one-click access. It will auto-update from this page whenever a new version ships.

Troubleshooting

macOS — "Profile is not signed" warning. Expected. Click Install anyway. We don't pay for Apple's developer-ID signing on internal-only tools; the profile is hosted on our own domain and only changes Chrome's extension policy.

macOS — "Extension may have been installed without your knowledge" / can't enable. That's the sideload block we're bypassing with the Configuration Profile. Use the macOS tab above instead of the manual drag-drop.

Windows — "extension may have been added by an external program." Same sideload block as macOS. Use the Windows tab above (the .reg install script) instead of the manual drag-drop.

Windows — "Are you sure you want to continue?" when running the .reg file. Yes, that's the standard registry-import confirmation. Click Yes. The file only touches your own user's Chrome policy settings — no admin needed, no machine-wide changes.

Chrome says "Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website." Make sure Developer mode is on. Then close and reopen the Extensions tab and try again.

The download went to my Downloads folder but I can't find it. Open your file manager, go to your Downloads folder, and look for kcc-debug-reporter.crx or .mobileconfig.

Chrome shows "Package is invalid: CRX_REQUIRED_PROOF_MISSING". Restart Chrome once after enabling Developer mode, then try again.

I want to use this on a different browser. The extension targets Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc, etc.). Firefox is not supported.
